Lyndon Johnson Agate Collection is Back

Lyndon Johnson, Sauk Rapids is the owner of one the largest personally collected Lake Superior Agate collections in the world. He will be featuring the collection at the Benton County Historical Society's Museum, 218 1st Street North, Sauk Rapids from January 4, 2013 through March 2, 2013.

Lyndon's collection features many types and examples of agates from the Central Minnesota area. His collections features one of the largest eye agates ever found and a 10 pound crazy laced moss agate. His experience at successful agate collecting has allowed him the chance to personally collect 900 pounds of agates. He has written a book, Lake Superior Agates What To Look For- Lyndon's Story about the collection and is currently doing public education presentations at libraries and schools.

Benton County Historical Society has featured this collection in the past and we do so again because of multiple requests from the community.
